Detail:

This course is available for people working with children and families in Stoke-on-Trent. For those working with children and families outside of Stoke-on-Trent, please contact your local Safeguarding Children Partnership.

Participants must have undertaken Level 1 Child Protection training before attending this course.

This course will update your Level 2 certificate to continue to be the Designated/Deputy Safeguarding Lead in your organisation for another 2 years.

TRAINING COST:

The cost to attend this Level 4 course is:

  • £50 per person
    (With the exception of the three statutory safeguarding partners, voluntary, faith, charitable and community interest company organisations).

 

Target Staff: Managers of organisations who have designated responsibility for dealing with allegations against their staff or volunteers who work with children, young people and families.

 

Aims & Objectives

  • Be aware of national guidance on managing allegations relating to those who work with children and young people.
  • Understand what constitutes an allegation, how allegations arise and the process of allegations management.
  • Understand the roles of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, the Designated Senior Manager and the Local Authority Designated Officer.
  • Understand how to manage allegations in accordance with Stoke-on-Trent policy.
  • Identify potential areas of vulnerability in staff practice and develop ideas about how to address them.
