This course is available for people working with children and families in Stoke-on-Trent. For those working with children and families outside of Stoke-on-Trent, please contact your local Safeguarding Children Partnership.
Participants must have undertaken Level 1 Child Protection training before attending this course.
This course will update your Level 2 certificate to continue to be the Designated/Deputy Safeguarding Lead in your organisation for another 2 years.
TRAINING COST:
The cost to attend this Level 3 course is:
- £100 per person
(With the exception of the three statutory safeguarding partners, voluntary, faith, charitable and community interest company organisations).

- Demystification and clarification of Domestic Abuse
- How to respond
- How to ask questions safely
- Completing risk assessment (DASH/RIC)
- Referral pathways – MARAC
- Understand what New Era do and the service provided
- To promote the importance of multi-agency working and cooperation
- Sources of Support
- Young people in unhealthy relationships
- Understand changes in legislation
- Using Restorative Practice to understand the importance of the child’s voice and the ‘child’s world’
- Develop understanding of domestic abuse, which includes controlling and coercive behaviour from perpetrators of domestic abuse, and the impact this has on children
- To work more effectively by gaining a greater understanding of the different interventions available for safety planning and support
- To understand your own agencies procedures and principles of practice within the context of Domestic Abuse
