This course is available for people working with children and families in Stoke-on-Trent. For those working with children and families outside of Stoke-on-Trent, please contact your local Safeguarding Children Partnership.
Participants must have undertaken Level 1 Child Protection training before attending this course.
This course will update your Level 2 certificate to continue to be the Designated/Deputy Safeguarding Lead in your organisation for another 2 years.
TRAINING COST:
The cost to attend this Level 3 course is:
- £50 per person
(With the exception of the three statutory safeguarding partners (Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Health and Staffordshire Police), voluntary, faith, charitable and community interest company organisations).
What does this course cover?
This half-day course is designed to deepen your understanding of Honour Based Abuse and equip you with practical tools for identification, intervention, and support. Exploring specific information on detection, and terminology. Highlighting points for professional considerations, including the use of Forced Marriage Protection Orders. Explore real-life case studies to outline appropriate multiagency responses in alignment with government guidance.
By the end of the course, you will:
- Developed knowledge and understanding of Honour Based Abuse and Forced Marriage.
- Enhanced awareness and understanding of honour-related dynamics.
- Identify potential warning signs and intervene effectively.
- Gain an awareness of the use of Forced Marriage Protection Orders (FMPOs)
- Developed an understanding of the Law surrounding Honour Based Abuse and Forced Marriage
- Comprehended prevalence and scale of Honour based Abuse
- Learn strategies to support victims and navigate challenging situations.
- Enhanced confidence when working with cases of Honour Based Abuse and Forced Marriage.
