This course is available for people working with children and families in Stoke-on-Trent. For those working with children and families outside of Stoke-on-Trent, please contact your local Safeguarding Children Partnership.
Participants must have undertaken Level 1 Child Protection training before attending this course.
TRAINING COST: This course is free for all agencies
Course outline:
- To assist practitioners to understand the variety of ways in which resistance can be displayed by families.
- To help practitioners to understand the causes of such responses.
- For practitioners to have increased awareness of how resistance and hard to engage families can impact on individuals and practice.
- Highlight strategies practitioners may employ when working with resistant families.
- Help practitioners manage and maintain control of situations and keep themselves self.
